Seeds Of Hope Partners June 18 ,2008 DEVOTIONS AND PRAYER: Led by Rosalie Connelly MINUTES: Motion by Larry Miller 2 and seconded by Dick Frank to accept the minutes. TREASURER’S REPORT: not available OLD BUSINESS: 1. The paperwork for the gift of the IBM shares is being completed. We will talk about our options at the next meeting 2. We are still in need of a barn for storage. A few possibilities are being checked out. Nithing more will be put in storage at Larry Miller’s barn. Furniture pick-ups are on hold until we get another storage facility. 3. We are in need of diapers of all sizes. 4. The food pantry is in need of peanut butter, jelly, fruit juices, cereal, and soups, pasta and sauces The Angel Food supply is good. NEW BUSINESS: 1. The women at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Wellsboro will be supporting our food closet in July 2. St. Peter’s Catholic Church has been responding with furniture donations. 3. Sue Wilber and Sylvia Sumner did a SOHP presentation at Westfield Baptist Church. 4. A thank you from a family that received beds was read. 5. We will check with the United Methodist Church in Wellsboro about doing a clothing give-away before school starts. 6. A discussion was held on how we can make better use of the people who have volunteered to help SOHP. We will try to get the volunteer information updated by making phone calls to see if they are still interested and available. Additional information on attached page. 7. A motion was made by Marian Miller and seconded by Sylvia Sumner to send $100.00 to Mission Central to help them retire the debt on their building, so they can focus on serving more people. SOHP has been the recipient of clothing, cleaning supplies and other items from Mission Central.
Update on Families: 052-08 – family needs a dumpster- caseworker is helping family solve the problem 065-08 – need for summer clothes- were purchased 066-08 – reimbursed $100.00 for water heater 067-08 – Elkland family- two trailers owned by same family, request to run electric and water from one trailer to the other, we can’t deal with electric and water, they are now requesting repairs of roof and ceiling 070-08 – baby gates- were purchased Families for June: #051-08- Mansfield family-needs stroller for three, has no car #082-08- washer not working on spin cycle, we will evaluate, if repairs are more than $100.00 we will get a replacement #87-08- Tioga family-needs 2twin beds and bedding for boys, bicycle helmet for 6 year old boy #88-08- Covington family-needs baby monitor #89-08- Keeneyville family- needs one full size bed, and three twin size beds and bedding for all of them The next meeting will be on July 16, 2008.
