DEVOTIONS AND PRAYER: Led by Larry Miler 1


MINUTES: Motion by Sue Wilber and seconded by Larry Miller 1 to accept the minutes.


TREASURER’S REPORT: The current balance is $2050.89. There is a balance of $4200.00 in the CD.


OLD BUSINESS:

1.    “There’s More to Life” event in Lawrenceville on May 3rdwas successful. SOHP had an informational table set up.

2.   We are still in need of a barn for storage. A few possibilities are being checked out.

3.   A letter was sent to Diny Robinson regarding our concerns on referrals.

4.   Diny did a presentation at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Wellsboro. They have shown interest in helping SOHP.

5.   The food pantry is in need of peanut butter, jelly, fruit juices, cereal, and soups. The Angel Food supply is good. Diapers are in good supply.

 

NEW BUSINESS:

1.   An anonymous donor saw the SOHP brochure and has given us 50 shares of IBM stock. The present value is over $6000. After discussion, a motion was made by Rosalie Connelly and seconded by Carol Campbell to have Carole Frank, Carl Matteson and Diny Robinson to serve on a committee to meet with a financial advisor and bring information back to us at the next meeting.

2.   SOHP volunteers can deduct mileage for attending meetings.

3.   A discussion was held on how we can make better use of our volunteers. If we don’t get them involved we will lose them.

 

Update on families:

052-08 – family needs a dumpster- no new information

057-08 – payment of electric bill- no new information

059-08 – smoke detectors were obtained from another source, still need fire extinguishers


Families for May:

063-08 - request for lice treatment for foster children- denied as parents get paid for foster children

065-08 – need for summer clothes- we will purchase the clothes

066-08 – request for shoes-we will purchase, request for water heater- need more information

067-08 – Elkland family- two trailers owned by same family, request to run electric and water from one    trailer to the other, need to do on-site assessment with caseworker for more information

069-08 – family will be moving to area, need anything to set up housekeeping- on hold until they move in

070-08 – baby gates- we will purchase



The next meeting will be on June 18, 2008. Rosalie Connelly will have devotions.
