Seeds Of Hope Partners April 16 ,2008 DEVOTIONS AND PRAYER: Led by Carol Campbell MINUTES: Motion by Larry Miller 1 and seconded by Sue Wilber to accept the minutes. TREASURER’S REPORT: The current balance is $2192.72. $1000 was transferred from the CD into the checking account. There is a balance of $4200.00 in the CD. OLD BUSINESS: 1. A SOHP information table will be set up at the “There’s More to Life” event in Lawrenceville on May 3rd. Rosalie, Lynn, Dick and Carole will be available to man the table. 2. Angel Food is in good supply. The food pantry needs to be stocked for the summer months when the demand is greater. Peanut butter and jelly, cereal, soups, and canned meat items are especially needed. Size 5 diapers are needed. 3. Bradford County is continuing to hold informational meetings. There has been a good response to the meetings. NEW BUSINESS: 1. A thank you note was read that Joel Young received from a family where we installed a water heater. 2. The Mission Central HUB in Westfield will be opening on May 6th. There are accepting donations of items for school kits and health kits. 3. Larry Miller 1 will be selling his home and moving to Wellsboro. SOHP has been using his barn as a storage facility. The sale means that we need to find another facility for storage, preferably in the Wellsboro area. If anyone knows of an available building please let Carl Matteson or Carole Frank know. 4. Volunteers are needed to transport families for family visits. The Agency will provide the vehicle. The volunteer needs to have proof of driver’s license and vehicle insurance on file at the Agency. 5. SOHP is requesting that the Agency provide training to the newest employed caseworkers to make them aware of all the resources that may be available to help the families prior to making a request to SOHP. This should be reiterated with all caseworkers. The goal of SOHP is to look at requests with issues that involve the health and safety of children. We are also requesting that complete and detailed information be in the requests that are presented to SOHP. Not having enough information is causing the requests to go back to the caseworkers for more details and this may cause a delay of up to a month before the family would receive help. Carole Frank will send a note to Diny Robinson with these requests.
