Seeds Of Hope Partners

December 19, 2007

DEVOTIONS AND PRAYER: Led by Lynn Warso.

MINUTES: Motion by Dick Frank and seconded by Lynn Warso to accept the minutes.

TREASURER’S REPORT: The current balance is $5,574.75. In addition we have a $5,000 CD. Recent donations of $6,000 have been received. We bought Christmas gifts for 54+ children. The Agency distributed gifts to 370 children. Thank you to the volunteers that helped wrap the gifts.

OLD BUSINESS:

1.   A discussion was held on reimbursement for gasoline. A motion was made by Carl Matteson and seconded by Carol Campbell that decisions on fuel reimbursement will be made on a case-by-case basis. If we do not pay the individual for gas then the county has to provide transportation.

2.   Carole Frank has sent information about Seeds of Hope Partners to Matt Baker’s office, Guideline  and Haven. She recommended that they refer people to the Agency so that it can be determined if they are already connected with Human Services.

3.   Candy packets were received from Mission Central and distributed to the children with their Christmas gifts.

4.   Carole will order diapers in sizes 3 & 4 for the diaper closet.

5.   Four boxes of food will be purchased from Angel Food Ministries in January.

6.   Bradford County is getting more requests and they are making deliveries to families.

NEW BUSINESS:

1.   Larry Miller 1 was not present but had a concern about the ongoing needs for the food pantry. He suggested that we authorize $50.00 a month to purchase non-perishable foods. On discussion, Carl and Diney stated that when there is a specific need for food they do go out and buy the  food that is needed if it is not available from the food closet.

2.   Carl asked for volunteers to make deliveries on different days for the next two weeks as Christmas  and New Years both fall on the regular delivery day.

3.   Clarion County has requested information about Seeds of Hope Partners.

4.   Diney presented information about a Tioga County Supervised Visitation Program. This program             will provide trained volunteers to monitor visits between a non-custodial parent and a child.             Volunteers are asked to make a six month commitment and there are requirements for the             volunteers. Anyone who is interested can call the Supervision Program Coordinator at       (570)724-5766.

5.   A thank you card from caseworker, Pam Oliver was read thanking Seeds of Hope Partners for the `            work that we do.

6.   The twin size bedding is in need of being replenished. Letters will be sent to churches in Tioga     County asking them to provide a bed-in-a-bag. Quilts are not needed at this time. We         especially need bedding for boys.
