TREASURER’S REPORT: Balance on hand as of February 15, 2006 is $5,168.19.

A motion to purchase $60.00 worth of children’s clothes from NEAIR and to accept the treasurer’s report was made by Roberta, seconded by Lisa. Motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:

Mentoring Training Update : Dr. Nancy Sidwll form Mansfield University is continuing to work on a pilot program to train volunteers for mentoring. Dates will be announced in the future for the initial training.

Ameri-Corp Vista Volunteer Update: Tim is still interested in becoming a volunteer for SOHP through the Ameri-Corp Vista program. AHEC will be contacted about sponsorship for our organization.

Angel Food Ministries: An application will be started for this in the Wellsboro area. 3 people from the Wellsboro Presbyterian church are interested in volunteering in this project. A meeting will be called this month with people interested in this project to see if it is feasible. A decision will be made at the March meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:

A thank you was presented to SOHP from a family that received help from our organization.

Carol presented statistics from The Elmira Star Gazette about poverty in our school districts involving children ages 5 through 12 years old.

Wellsboro School District 321 children

Southern Tioga School District 286 children

Northern Tioga School District 467 children

A request from Tim for a bed for a person was presented to SOHP. It was discussed and agreement was reached to provide a bed.
