SCRIPTURE AND PRAYER 
MINUTES: approved as submitted


TREASURER'S REPORT: Balance of $1,691.82


OLD BUSINESS:
     BACK TO SCHOOL CLOTHING GIVEAWAY: 
This event was very successful. Many families were able to receive clothing. 
Many thanks for the SOHP volunteers that made this possible. 
Next year the giveaway should be open to the public both days as much clothing was left over. 
There is free advertising available and we should co-ordinate that to inform the public.


     UPDATE ON FAMILIES PRESENTED:

     SOCIAL WORK PROGRAM DIRECTOR AT MANSFIELD UNIVERSITY HAS AGREED TO DO MENTOR TRAINING . 
A meeting will be set up to discuss implementing this program

A 500.00 FEE AND A SET OF BY-LAWS has been submitted to the Internal Revenue Service and all paperwork 
and fees have been successfully completed. We have a tax exempt number and the next step will be to get 
a sales tax exemption.

    Ameri Corp Vista volunteer is still an ongoing project.    

NEW BUSINESS:

     Ron Butler, President of the Laurel Health Systems, was present to explain the Adopt a Family program. 
This program involves service organizations getting referrals from Human Service Agency to help a family for one year. The service organization 
would likely commit about $2,000.00 to help their adopted family. This program is a combination personal and financial commitment . 
Mr. Butler was advised to meet with Human Services to discuss this program.    

     A senior from Mansfield High School was present to request that her senior project be a SOHP project. Her project must be completed 
by Dec. 2005. After a discussion she was willing to organize a diaper collection for SOHP's families.

     On October 16, 2005 at 7:00 PM a Hymn Sing to benefit SOHP will be performed at the First Presbyterian Church in Wellsboro, Pa. 
A free will offering will be collected.

     The Seeds of Hope By-laws were presented. The members will read them over and vote on them in October. In October we will elect officers for SOHP.The office of President, Treasurer, Secretary and Vice President will be voted on.

     The Saint Paul's Thrift Shop donated $100.00 to SOHP.

        #100  Westfield Area    Needed: 1 set of bunkbeds 1 twin bed 3 sets of bedding

Devotions for Oct. 19, 2005 will be done
